The Inflatable Parsnip Air Splint kit is an updated version which is used for the treatment and easing of severe hand muscle contractures.
It consists of a small transparent cone-shaped inflatable air splint made from PVC, and is supplied complete with two washable covers with pull-through tags, and a bulb inflator.
The splint with its cover on is fed into the palm when flat, and pulled through with the tag until it is well inside the hand.
It is then inflated with the bulb inflator to open up the contracted fingers.
Its conical shape allows the splint to be fed into the palm as far as is comfortable and effective.
